Here we go with the second part of my design process for My perfect bikepacking bike. In this one it's all about getting a test bike built to work through the elements of the bike I want. Wheel size/type, luggage, racks and so on.

Riding the best Singletrack with the guys from Formby was a blast. Fatbikes are just the best when it comes to Sand and technical trail riding. I was a bit shocked though to hear about the grave hidden deep in the woods! Spooky! Big thanks to Jim and all the lads for showing me around.

Went for a ride on the new tyres from Schwalbe and couldn't retain my thoughts on what has to be the grippiest tyre on planet earth for a bicycle. Also my undying love for the humble fatbike.

This video is about my day out "riding"? the Kemble100 cycle route. Two of my friends had done the ride a few days before so I was super keen to get it done. I'd not been feeling to good for a couple of days but thought, to hell with it, I'll be fine.

This video is a review of the brand new 2022 Fatbike tyre from Schwalbe, the Al Mighty. 26 x 4.8 of super grippy rubber. I took the tyres for a blast around the Forest of Dean to see how they compared with the tyres I've used before and check out the grip and quality.

So the plan was, sort a route that I can ride fully loaded for 2 days. After consideration of the crazy hot weather an alternative route was planned. Find out how I got on and the places I visited on route.

Bikepacking. So after all the delays for the last 2 years at last the Dorset Dirt Dash is back. This is my experience of this rather unique event put together by Charlie Hobbs and Markus Stitz plus a brilliant crew.

With spring in the air I decided to try out some of the Kemble 100 route, which took in Cleeve Common near Cheltenham. As you'll see I love the route and thoroughly recommend giving it a try.

Fat Bike Project: My first fat bike and my first bike build. Started on Global Fat Bike Day 2021.

After a couple of rough days I decided to take advantage of the weather and location. I have to say it worked a treat and I felt so much better.

First of all, sorry, I filmed this on my phone and forgot to turn it to landscape. DOH! Well my experience of Polymyalgia and its associated treatment seems to be messing me up. Woke up this morning feeling very very depressed. No energy, head feels just messed up.

After developing Polymyalgia on March the 22nd 2021, and 8 weeks of horrendous bed ridden pain, finally the doctors finally sorted some steroid medication. Now the journey to getting off the steroids begins and cycling is one way to deal with the mental challenges and coping with the ups and downs of the treatment and hopefully a cure .

I see lots of people asking questions about fatbikes so I thought I'd pop my thoughts on a video, so here you go. I've tried to remain unbiased as not everyone wants the same bike and getting anyone to try the fat has to be a good thing, whatever the brand.

Fatbike Pump track and more. One day when things settle and we are allowed to meet again I'm organising some rides in this area of the Forest of Dean. Apart from the wild boar there's not a lot else playing in these woods.

A Fatbike tour taking in May Hill, Symonds Yat, Monmouth and St Briavels before finishing in Lydney and a lot more, navigating with a Wahoo Element Roam. The bike I chose is my Smokestone Bow Ti Fatbike. The route has a lot to see but be warned you need to like climbing.

A day out on the Smokestone Henderson turned out well. After lots of longer rides I decided to have a change and bring out the Hendy. Fitted with a 140mm travel Manitou Mastodon Pro forks our fatbike frames are as capable as any regular trail bike, that includes a rather expensive E-bike.

A fatbike ride from Gloucester to Bath, Bristol, the Severn Bridge and back to Gloucester. 103 miles taking in a real mix of proper off road trails, gravel trails and cycleways aboard a Smokestone titanium Fatbike, with a 50 mph headwind thrown into the mix. I just had to get out and having the perfect tool for the job made it an easy decision. I took our demo Smokestone Ti Pin fatbike out on an exploration ride. Fatbikes are the perfect tool for going off-trail is even better when you don't have a rear mech to snap off.

Just another Sunday ride in the Forest of Dean on my Smokestone Henderson Fatbike. Just loving this time of year, Fatbikes just love the winter conditions.

My first proper ride on the all new Ti Pin LS. The frame is aimed to be more capable downhill than your average Fatbike, design by our rider Liam Crook who has a leaning towards more longer and slacker steeds.

No such thing as bad weather when you have a Fatbike in your armoury. Took the Henderson out in the Forest of Dean and did some skids.
